Recorded in New England in 2002, this album has only recently winged its way to the CR offices in Old England! This is the fourth release from the trio known as Raging Grace since they formed over a decade ago. Regularly gigging at coffee-houses and outdoor festivals, the band has built up quite a following. Describing themselves as "guitar driven rock steeped in the blues; the message is pure gospel", the 14 diverse tracks on offer here hold your attention from start to finish (a full hour's worth). Led by the clear, finely-honed vocals of Stephen Bell (who looks like he just walked out of ZZ Top!), virtually all songs are soaked thoroughly in the blues. But there's plenty of variety, from the gutsy, blistering "Heads up", to the fun, celebratory "Good to me" and "Married man shuffle" (with its funky horn section), to the laid-back trad-blues sounds of "No room at the inn" and "Flood plain". Then there's tracks like "Flying to the foot" and "Light me up", which are pure rock'n'roll, plus a new edge to the old hymn "Nothing but the blood". The lyrics are interesting, gospel-inspired and non-cliched and the musicianship is first rate (check those guitar licks!). It all makes for amongst the best Christian blues I've heard. If you like the bluesy tones of Tony Loeffler, Barry Bynum or Glenn Kaiser (a friend of these guys), then I can guarantee, you'll go wild over this! nine squares Tom Lennie- Crossrhythms Magazine, 6/04
Your music is what I've been looking for ever since I got saved. Pretty classy to do a song about being happily married, too. God bless you folks.- D.M.
Not many do Christian blues- keep playing it for Christ.- S.R.
Thanks for what you have given me (some spiritual tool for the fight)...- R.J.
We are really enjoying playing your music on air- KNLE 88.1
Keep up the great work for God. So many times we go to concerts and the artists never talk about God. I really appreciated your sharing from the stage. We appreciated the small glimpse into how God has changed your life. Keep rocking for God.- B.F.
I just want to say thank you for blessing my life with your great music. You have me singing and whistling along with you. The lyrics make you think about how blessed we are.- M.D.
I absolutely love what I am hearing so far. I can't tell you how happy I am to have found a band playing the kinds of music I truly love with a Christian message. Thanks a million for the music.- J.R
Saw your show and heard your band for the first time today. Your message was strong and your music was great. Your ability to blend the rock/blues with the good news is commendable. You should be proud of what you are doing.- T.B.
When I left for Iraq, I brought one set of civvies with me; a pair of shorts and a Raging Grace T shirt. One night in May- on my anniversary, as a matter of fact- my tent, along with four others, burned to the ground in less than seven minutes and I lost everything I brought over here. As I picked through the ashes the next day, I found my Raging Grace T shirt, unwearable, but recognizable. I saved it as a reminder of God's grace, even in an inferno. D.G.
I've never seen anyone blow the roof off like you guys did tonight.- T.C.
Love the CD (Strand). Love your style. Great to hear blues played for Jesus and I can definitely feel your conviction in these songs. See ya in Glory.- J.C.
You guys sound great! I have a friend who has seen RG play several times and he lent me one of your CDs. Thanks for creating some fresh new blues. The whole album is fantastic. J.G
I am a 55 year old retired paramedic. I have enjoyed blues as well as other music for many years and, after listening to some of your cuts online, had to buy. May the Lord be with you. F.G
I'm an aspiring Christian blues singer myself and was looking for some inspiration- boy, did I ever find it! I thought only Stevie Ray Vaughn could swing my soul like that...may God bless your ministry...S.A.
Like your straightforward approach in lyric writing...this is some of the best blues I've heard in a long time, Christian or secular. The CD really ministers to me.- T.J.
Bikers For Christ in Tucson has adopted your song "Where The Sinners Go" as our theme song. It fits so perfect with our ministry because that's exactly what we do, go down where the sinners go and preach the Gospel. May the Lord Jesus Christ richly bless Raging Grace and your families. - S.C.
I listened to about 15 seconds of your music and knew I wanted the CD. God bless you guys and thanks for using and sharing your talents for Jesus.- D.B
This is the smokinest stuff I have heard since He saved me 11 years ago. Few can rock this tight, loose and bending at the same time. Hearing lyrics this strong and bold about a Risen Saviour is somewhere between thrilling and chilling. Thanks for great sounds that glorify the Lord of all Lords.- C.S.
I appreciate the care that has gone into the lyrics of your songs. I appreciate also that you have a mission focus. Thanks.- J.M
I must say that the music of RG is very high quality. The Blues with the only true positive message. Keep sharing the love of Christ through all you do.- S.Z
Awesome music...I found it on a Christian biker website and had to have it...keep up the good work-W.P
Your newest album rocks! Great job guys, especially the last track.- J.S.
We had them (RG) a while back at our old location in downtown Springfield. My pastors loved them and so did everyone else. They remain one of the most talked about bands that have ever come in.- M.F.
I really like the new CD, it quickly became one of my favorites. Keep playing, there's not enough good Christian blues and classic rock out there. - J.R.
I saw you guys in Ellsworth, ME and I was blown away! I have been a Blues fan for many years. Although Glenn Kaiser, Blind Willie Johnson, and Rev. Gary Davis have been a major inspiration to me, you guys really showed me what Worship Blues can be. Thank you for being obedient to the calling God has placed on you! -G.J
I play your CDs at work and they really get me through the day. - J.A
